1. Core Rules & Objective

The primary objective in Daily Worms is to guide all active worms from their starting surface entry points through the soil grid to collect all Golden Apples and reach the designated Burrow Exit before running out of Nutritional Energy.

Movement & Tunneling Rule

Tunnelling through soil consumes Energy Points (EP) based on the density of the terrain:

Soft Topsoil: Costs $1\text{ EP}$ per grid square.
Dense Clay: Costs $2\text{ EP}$ per grid square.
Open Air / Existing Tunnel: Costs $0\text{ EP}$ (Free movement!).

If a worm’s EP reaches zero before reaching a burrow or consuming food, it becomes exhausted and cannot move for the rest of the puzzle!

Check your worm's starting Energy Meter. Calculate the total energy needed to reach the nearest compost heap or leaf pile. Never tunnel deep into a dead-end sector unless the point yield from pickups exceeds the energy cost to get back out!

Tunnelling through solid dirt costs energy, but traveling through open air or tunnels you’ve already dug costs zero energy! When managing multiple worms, use your first worm to dig a main "highway" tunnel so secondary worms can travel across the grid for free.

Step 4: Manipulate Water and Rocks

Use gravity to your advantage. Digging directly beneath a loose pebble causes it to fall into the tile below. You can drop rocks onto moles to neutralize them or drop rocks into water pockets to create safe stepping-stone bridges!
